Hole/Green Sponsor Instructions

First of all, thank you for being a Salem Area Chamber of Commerce 2008 Golf Tournament Sponsor! We would like to take this opportunity to explain your duties on the day of the tournament as well as our responsibilities to you. The Golf Coordination Team will be in charge of taking care of your needs the day of the tournament. Each sponsor will be assigned a volunteer who will cater to your needs the day of the tournament.

What is expected of you:
Make sure your company representative(s) arrives at Creekside Golf Club no later than 6:30am to be ready at the hole/green location by 7:30am. The individual(s) representing your company will be exposed to 220 golf players by hosting the hole/green and providing a "give-away." The people representing your company at the hole/green need to bring all the equipment needed for your sponsorship. This includes chairs, tables, snacks, coolers, etc. Also, make sure to bring a quantity of 220 promotional giveaways to ensure each golf participant receives one. Your sponsor sign will already be placed for you at your assigned hole/green.

What you can expect from the Golf Volunteer Team:
When your company representative arrives at or before 6:30am, a golf committee volunteer will have your company name and hole/green location mapped out. Your assigned Golf Committee representative will be located at the "Sponsor Drop Off Area" sign near the putting green and Pro Shop. As mentioned, we will have your company signage up at the hole/green you are sponsoring, featuring your company logo. We will provide you with transportation to the hole for your company representative and equipment via golf utility carts. Throughout the day, golf committee personnel volunteers will serve as personal contacts to answer any questions you may have before or during the tournament.

It is our job to make sure you get value for your sponsorship dollar, and that you enjoy yourself the day of the tournament.

What happens the day of the tournament:
At 8:00am the shotgun start begins for the morning round, with a foursome or two starting at each hole. Golfers begin arriving as early as 7:00am so as sponsors, be ready for an early start to the day. 100 golfers will play in the morning shotgun followed by 120 golfers in the afternoon shotgun. Detailed lists including golfer names and starting points will be provided the day of the tournament as a benefit of sponsorship.

It will be cold in the morning, and Creekside has a strict dress code (no denim, no t-shirts) so have your company representative dress accordingly. To view the dress code click here. Also, your company representative will receive a complimentary lunch. The boxed lunches will be ready at 11am and will be delivered to your representative at the hole/green between 11:30am and 1pm. Throughout the day, we will have support volunteers making the rounds to each hole to see if you need anything such as a cup of coffee or a ride to the restroom.
